CISBM is an independent community of researchers working at the interface of immunogenetics and systems biomedicine. We are organized around what our members do together, not around titles.
A research community, not an institution.
CISBM does not confer degrees, employ faculty, or compete with universities. It exists to give researchers, whether established professors or early-career scientists, a structured way to collaborate on focused scientific work outside their home institutions.
Membership carries no cost and no commercial obligation. Participation is judged on scientific merit and genuine research interest, not seniority or institutional affiliation.
Activities, not standing committees.
The work of CISBM happens through defined activities: scientific seminars and conferences, research meetings, and the Research Bootcamp, an intensive format in which researchers rapidly develop proposals, manuscripts, and computational analyses together.
Every activity is oriented toward a concrete scientific output: a manuscript draft, an analysis, a proposal, or a collaboration suitable for future funding. See our current activities and Research Bootcamp.
Immunogenetics, applied to systems biomedicine.
Our research interests center on immunogenetics and systems biomedicine: the genetic and molecular basis of immune variation, computational modeling of biological systems, and the methods that connect molecular-scale data to clinical questions. We favor rigor and reproducibility over breadth for its own sake.
CISBM does not restrict participation to a single subfield. What unites our members is a shared commitment to research that is scientifically honest and methodologically sound.
Two communities, one standard.
The community of CISBM includes Advisory & Distinguished Members, established scientists who lead funding searches and structure the direction of our studies, and Emerging Researchers, early-career scientists, postdoctoral researchers, and students who train through structured programmes and carry out the research itself. Both are held to the same standard of scientific rigor, working within a supportive research environment.
